The Visit of the Roscigno Family

The Visit of the Roscigno Family

In October 2013, the Ambassador of Italy to the Philippines, His Excellency, Massimo Roscigno, together with his lovely wife, Agnes, and their wonderful daughter, Ursula, came to the province of Iloilo hosted by Teresa Chan and the 1Meal Program Ladies.

Ambassador Massimo had previously been assigned as counsellor and deputy head of mission of Italy in Manila in 1988, where he met his wife, Agnes Defensor-Roscigno. Agnes, as it turns out is a relative of the beloved Governor Defensor of Iloilo. Now, together with their lovely daughter, Ursula, they visit Iloilo in order to sow good will and harmony between the two nations.

Though this trip was a short one, it was truly memorable. Ambassador Roscigno was much beloved not only in the diplomatic circle but by everyone who had the honor to meet him in Iloilo. Unfortunately he passed in August of 2020, and he will be missed dearly. Ambassador Roscigno was a man of many talents, he was patient, kind, and compassionate. He listened more than he spoke and when he did speak, his words were deep and meaningful. He was a man of class and heart, a rare and special kind of man.
